Robinhood to launch crypto wallet in beta to thousands next month

Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ:HOOD) will launch the beta phase of its cryptocurrency wallet in mid-January to thousands of customers on its waitlist, the company said in its blog. Currently, more than 1.6M people are on the waitlist for its crypto wallet. Robinhood (HOOD) is taking feedback from a small group of customers in its alpha program, who have tested the first iteration of its crypto wallets. "While we’re eager to roll-out new products as quickly as possible, building wallets and connecting our millions of customers “on-chain” (connecting with the blockchain) is a big undertaking," the company said. "We take this responsibility seriously, which is why we’re rolling out wallets methodically, and with Safety First in mind." Its alpha testers said they want the wallets to have a "familiar feel" to them and they requested signposting and explanations of terms like "network fees" and "transaction ID."
